Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of Circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of Chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
Invictus Quest was founded on the belief that deep within all of us there is an unconquerable spirit, an inner warrior that refuses to be defeated or to surrender. The part of us that knows that the only true failure is not to try. The study of authentic martial arts and practical self defense along with the pursuit of total body wellness is our quest to cultivate that spirit. The word Invictus means unconquerable or unconquered. The Japanese character for "nin" as used in the word "ninja" means to persevere or to endure. That is the basis for everything that we do. It is the idea that no matter what challenges or obstacles life throws in our path, we can persevere and remain unconquered.
